Squirrel Drawing

Meet Little Mitchell. He was the charming little pet immortalized by his owner in her book Little Mitchell, The Story of a Mountain Squirrel.  Margaret W. Morley tells the story of a 3-day old baby squirrel being found at the base of Mount Mitchell in North Carolina.

The illustrator of this charming book was Bruce Hosfall (1869-1948). Hosfall was an American wildlife illustrator. By that crazy quirk of American copyright, this cute little squirrel drawing is in the public domain because the book it appeared in was published prior to 1923.
