Goldfish Bowl Drawing

Up until this point, all of the fish drawings on FreeVintageArt.com have been from scientific works depicting particular species of fish. I thought it would be fun to share with you a more simple, clip-art sort of fish drawing today. It’s small, about only an inch square but there’s a certain charm to this goldfish bowl drawing. It features four goldfish swimming in a glass bowl. The bowl was sitting upon a shelf.

It’s probably too little to use alone but I suspect this goldfish bowl drawing could work quite well incorporated into a larger work. Perhaps you could sit it on a table or shelf much like was done in the original. We don’t know the original artist or even the author of the 1912 children’s book which included this drawing. The book was called Punky Dunk and the Gold Fish.
