Book Plate Frame

Oh so many wonderful vintage books, so many wonderful book plates. The book where this floral book plate frame served as part of the title page didn’t have anything else that caught my eye. But, I think this one is a nice one. The book was from 1920, which puts it in the public domain in the United States. The Social Contract & Discourses isn’t exactly about flowers and beauty but this frame sure has both.

These black and white frames come in a variety of themes, this one has flowers, flower buds and leaves. I’m not sure what the flowers might be but they remind me a bit of host flowers. This floral book plate frame offers so many options. Use it as it is with a photo. Add it to some mixed media art as one of several layers. Or get out your favorite graphics program or your Copics and color until it’s truly yours.
